Q: What is Bayberry Wildlife Rescue?
Bayberry Wildlife Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured and orphaned wildlife in Connecticut. We also provide community education on wildlife conservation.
Q: Where are you located?
We are based in Glastonbury, CT, at 143 Bayberry Road, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
Q: What should I do if I find an injured or orphaned animal?
Stay calm and do not attempt to feed or treat the animal yourself. Call us immediately, and we will guide you on the next steps. If it’s safe, place the animal in a well-ventilated box with a soft towel and keep it in a quiet place until help arrives.
Q: Do you rescue all types of wildlife?
We primarily rescue native Connecticut wildlife, including birds, small mammals, deer, and reptiles. However, we do not handle domestic animals (cats, dogs) or nuisance wildlife removal
Q: Can I bring an injured animal to you?
Yes, but please call us first before bringing any animal. Some wildlife require specialized handling, and we may need to direct you to the right rehabilitator for that species.
Q: How can I volunteer?
We are always looking for dedicated volunteers! Opportunities include wildlife care, rescue transport, fundraising, and community outreach.
Q: Do you accept donations?
Yes! We rely on generous donors to fund food, medical supplies, and rehabilitation efforts. You can Donate Online or contact us for other ways to contribute.
