Our Mission

Healing Wildlife, Protecting Nature

At Bayberry Wildlife Rescue, our mission is to provide urgent care to injured and orphaned wildlife, rehabilitate them with expert care, and release them back into their natural habitats. We are committed to preserving Connecticut’s wildlife through hands-on rescue efforts, rehabilitation programs, and educational outreach that fosters a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation.

Our Mission

At Bayberry Wildlife Rescue, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured and orphaned wildlife while promoting coexistence between humans and nature. We provide expert medical care, nourishment, and safe rehabilitation to ensure every rescued animal has the best chance of survival in the wild. Through education and advocacy, we empower communities to protect wildlife and preserve natural habitats for future generations.

Our Vision

“Healing Wildlife, Protecting Nature, Inspiring Change”

???? Rescuing Wildlife in Need

Every day, animals are found injured, orphaned, or displaced due to car accidents, habitat destruction, poisoning, and human interference. Our wildlife rescue team responds to emergency calls, safely transporting animals to our rehabilitation center, where they receive the urgent medical attention they need.

We work closely with licensed rehabilitators, veterinarians, and volunteers to provide the best possible care. Whether it’s a hawk with a broken wing, a baby squirrel separated from its mother, or an injured fox, we ensure every animal is treated with compassion and expertise.

???? Rehabilitation & Release: A Second Chance at Life

Rescue is just the beginning. Once an animal is stabilized, the real journey to recovery begins. At Bayberry Wildlife Rescue, we provide:

Medical Treatment & Healing – From surgeries to wound care, our team ensures each animal recovers fully.
Proper Nutrition & Specialized Care – Each species has unique dietary and environmental needs, which we carefully meet.
Behavioral & Survival Training – Orphaned animals must learn essential survival skills before returning to the wild.
Soft & Full Release Programs – Once an animal is strong enough, we release it back into a safe and suitable natural habitat.

Every release is a victory, not just for us, but for the entire ecosystem. We take pride in watching rehabilitated animals return to where they belong—wild and free.

???? Educating & Empowering Our Community

Wildlife conservation is not just about rescuing animals—it’s about preventing harm and fostering coexistence. We believe education is key to long-term change, which is why we are committed to:

School & Community Programs – Inspiring young minds through engaging presentations and hands-on learning.
Workshops & Public Events – Teaching people how to safely interact with wildlife and protect natural habitats.
Human-Wildlife Conflict Solutions – Helping communities understand how to peacefully coexist with local wildlife.

By spreading knowledge and awareness, we empower individuals to take action in their own backyards, ensuring a safer future for wildlife.

???? Protecting Habitats & Promoting Conservation

Rescuing animals is only part of the solution. Without safe, healthy environments, wildlife has nowhere to return. That’s why we advocate for:

Habitat Restoration Projects – Reforesting areas and creating safe spaces for wildlife.
Pollution Reduction Efforts – Encouraging responsible waste disposal and eco-friendly practices.
Legislative Advocacy – Working with policymakers to protect wildlife and preserve Connecticut’s natural spaces.

Nature and wildlife are interconnected, and it is our responsibility to protect the land, air, and water they depend on.
